UPDATE; DUE TO THE COVID-19 STAY AT HOME ORDERS, WE WILL NOT BE OPENING THE CAFE UNTIL AFTER THE STAY AT HOME ORDERS HAVE BEEN LIFTED. WE WILL HOWEVER, BE DOING OUR ANNUAL SEED SWAP ONLINE. THE ALBUM OF AVAILABLE SEEDS HAS BEEN POSTED AND INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED IN THE ALBUM.
THEY ARE AS FOLLOWS: Please send EMAIL to Derailleur Bike Shop Cafe, firstname.lastname@example.org (one message per order) Subject: SEED ORDER with a list of the seeds you would like to try (LIST using CORRELATING #). Gavin and I will fill the orders with several seeds as supplies last. Please only one message/order per family. Non compliance to these simple instructions will result in no seeds for you. ONCE SEED PACKETS HAVE BEEN FILLED, WE WILL ANNOUNCE THAT THE PACKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP AT THE CAFE.
Greetings: Gavin and I have been watching our local business friends navigating these difficult times and we commend all of them for doing everything they can to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus and keeping their employees and their customers as well, safe and healthy.
Normally, we don’t open our doors to the public until the beginning of April. At the beginning of the month of March, we were watching and waiting, to see what the status of the pandemic spread was before making any changes to our calendar. We feel the time has come for us to adjust our opening date as well as change our up coming event of the Annual Seed and Plant Swap.
Currently, Gavin and I are installing a “take out” window on the deck side of the café. We still plan on opening for weekends only starting on April 4, 2020 (12:00 – 5:00pm) but will only offer “take out” window service and a limited menu. Gavin will also be taking bicycles for repair and service on an appointment basis. Please send messages via Facebook, or to our email, Derailleur.email@example.com, to set an appointment for drop off of your bicycle.
This year, we have received an amazing amount of donation seed from Baker Seed Co., Valley Green Heirloom, Fedco Seeds, Johnny’s and others. So many seeds which could be fresh food on your table, and a stress relieving activity during this time. We’ve decided to try something a little outside the box. Instead of the swap, we would like to get seeds out to those that want them via online. I’m still working out the details for this, so bear with me and I’ll post more directions soon.
Until then, Gavin and I hope all of you and yours are healthy and hanging in there during these crazy times. Remember, you can still go outside! See you on the trail –from 6ft or more away please.
